Journal response “To what extent can I know myself?”
I think that I can know myself very well. Different people know themselves to different extents. I think that in my case, I can know myself better than anyone can know me except for God.
I think that to know someone is to know their likes and dislikes, to know their character, to know their reactions to different situations, to know their mannerisms and peculiarities, and also their thoughts. I can think of no one whom I know better than I know myself. I know my likes and dislikes, my character, I know how I would react to different situations now, I know my mannerisms and peculiarities and I think my thoughts.
The only reason why I might not know myself completely is because people change over time, and I am not an exception. I cannot predict the future. I learn and grow from my experiences, 30 years down the road, I would probably react differently to a situation a reacted to in a certain manner this year.
In conclusion, I think I can know myself to a large extent, better than anyone else can know me.
